2 lbs. lean ground beef
c. chopped sweet onions
1 clove garlic, minced
1 - 8 oz. can organic tomato paste
4 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
2 tsp. Kosher salt
c. oatmeal
2 slices bread, ripped into small pieces
2 med. eggs

Directions:

Mix all ingredients by hand till well incorporated. Place in a cast iron pan and top with salt and pepper.
Bake at 375 for 45 min. to 1 hour.

This is a recipe my dad always makes and that his mother always made for him. I put my own special touches on it. Using a cast iron skillet gives the meat nice crispy edges. We also like to make gravy from the drippings. Brings back memories of Sunday dinners with our family.
