5 cups walnuts, finely chopped
½ cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
dash of cloves
1 lb sweet butter
1 ½lb of phyllo

Syrup:
4 cups sugar
3 cups water
orange peel
1 cinnamon stick
½ cup honey

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

1. In a bowl, mix walnuts, sugar, and spices

2. In a saucepan, melt butter

3. Brush bottom of pan with butter
Line with 8 phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with butter
Sprinkle 1 ¾ of the nut mixture
Add 2 more phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with butter
Sprinkle 1 ¾ of the nut mixture
Add 2 more phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with butter
Sprinkle remaining mixture
Top with 8 phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with butter

4. Score 1 inch diamond pieces

5. Bake about 40 min or until golden brown

6. Immediately pour cold syrup over hot pastry

7. Once cooled cut through pastry with knife

Syrup:
Boil water, sugar, and spices for about 20 min
Stir in honey
Cool down
