2 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 T. poppy seeds
3 eggs, slightly beaten

1/4 c. orange juice
3/4 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl. Set aside. Beat remaining bread ingredients together in a large bowl. Add dry ingredients and beat 1-2 minutes. Pour into prepared loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour. While bread is baking, mix together ingredients to make glaze. After removing from oven, let bread cool for a few minutes. Pour glaze over warm loaves. Cool completely, and remove from pans.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This one makes me think of Mom baking at Christmas. As I recall, Curt really liked it - his name is on my recipe. Now my kids also love it. It does call for almond extract. However, I think it could easily be changed to lemon extract, which would be really good, too. You would just need to adjust the glaze, and replace the orange juice with another liquid.
