4 eggs
2 1/2 c. sugar
6 c. milk
4 c. light cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1 12-oz. bag peppermint candies, crushed

Beat eggs until light. Add sugar gradually, beating until thick. Mix in milk, cream, and salt. Stir in crushed peppermint. Freeze in a 5-quart ice cream freezer.

In our community, Mom was as famous for her peppermint ice cream as she was for her pies. With a couple of exceptions, it is the only ice cream I ever remember her making. The recipe card is so worn and smeared, that I can barely read the recipe. Hopefully, I've entered it correctly!
