2 ¼ c. all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c. softened butter (2 sticks)
¾ c. granulated sugar
¾ c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 ⅔ c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Beat in flour mixture gradually. Stir in chips and nuts.

Drop onto ungreased baking sheet by rounded tablespoon. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 min.
