2 ¼ c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp grated nutmeg
1 T Vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
¾ c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla in small bowl
Sift dry ingredients in large bowl
Add vegetable oil to the dry ingredients
Add wet ingredients to the dry mix and mix by hand for about 30 sec.
Fill the doughnut dropper with the doughnut batter.
Heat vegetable oil in a small shallow frying pan to 365°
Auntie Ruthie says, “You know the oil is hot enough if you drop batter into the hot oil and the batter comes back up.”
Top the doughnuts with anything you like
Traditionally, a vanilla or chocolate glaze was used

Story Behind the Doughnuts:
On wet & rainy days, Grandma & Karen used to make pans & pans of these doughnuts.
You do need a doughnut dropper. I bet you can probably find one in-stores or on-line. We found two antique doughnut droppers at garage sales
