1 cup softened butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
Dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter/margarine with sugar
2. Add in eggs (1 at a time)
3. Add Vanilla and mix until smooth
4. Add flour, baking powder, soda & salt
5. Mix all ingredients together (will be quite thick)
6. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour
7. Roll on floured surface with floured rolling pin
8. Bake @ 350º for approximately 8 minutes. Edges should be golden brown

Cool well before icing

4 cups icing sugar
½ cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

1. Beat egg whites
2. Add in 2 cups icing sugar and beat
3. Add in butter and beat
4. Add in 2 cups icing sugar and beat
5. Add in vanilla and beat well

Add food coloring (divide if multiple colors desired). Add milk to adjust the thickness of the icing if desired
