Ingredients:  
1 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
tsp. nutmeg

Icing:
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. heavy cream
1 egg, beaten
1 c. raisins
c. nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
1. Pour boiling water over oats and let stand until cool.
2. Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs together.
3. Add in flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
4. Add cooled oatmeal mixture with the dry ingredients and mix together well. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350.
5. Frost with icing.

Oatmeal Cake Icing:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
2. Add in raisins and chopped nuts. Spread on cake.
