3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup figs
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon flour

Directions:
Directions:
For filling: boil raisins, 1/2 cup sugar, figs and water with 1 teaspoon flour and cool. Combine remaining ingredients for dough. Roll dough in oblong pieces. Spread dough with filling. Bake. Cut in pieces or bars when taken from oven.
