Banana Nut Cake


Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
4 eggs (one at a time)
8 T. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. vanilla
5 bananas, crushed
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients, adding eggs one at a time. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes. Makes three layers.
 

Banana Cake Icing

1 cup brown sugar
cup butter
cup milk
Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and brown sugar and mix until creamy. Add milk and boil 2 minutes. Cool. Add powdered sugar to spread. Optional: add a cup of coconut, and cup of nuts if desired.
