2 cups water
1/2 to 1 tsp grease
1 egg
4 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 tbsp flour
Lettuce, cut up
Garden onions, cut up


Put water and grease in iron skillet. Mix egg, sugar, vinegar, salt
and flour. Stir above ingredients with whisk until well blended.
When water boils in skillet slowly pour mixture in skillet, stirring as
you pour.
Cook till about the thickness of pie filling. Let cool to lukewarm,
then pour over lettuce and garden onions.

** Delicious with fried potatoes
