Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp salt
1/2 Cup milk
1 & 1/2 Cups flour
Paprika (to your taste)

Directions:
Directions:
Add salt & milk to beaten egg.

Stir in flour and beat until smooth. I find adding the flour in 2 or 3 batches is helpful, especially if you decide to double the recipe (not to mention it cuts down on mess!)

Drop by Tablespoonfuls into boiling, salted water.

Boil for 15 minutes. Drain

The original recipe called for covering the pot - but I can tell you they cook up just fine without the lid. With the lid on, it tends to boil over really easily & make a big mess!

You can also use chicken bouillon in the boiling water - but omit salt if you do. This just adds a bit more flavor

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I found this recipe in a cookbook when I was a teenager. Your Mom was always asking me to make them for her when we were growing up - and even after I was married & came back to Toledo when Uncle Rich was on leave! So, if you give these a try, make sure you invite your Mom over to taste test them!

These are really good with chicken gravy over them!
