Notes: We love camping near the Jersey shore in the summer and finding various places to swim and shop for fresh seafood and produce. Skewers are a great way to prepare meat, especially seafood, and bacon-wrapped scallops are a particular treat. Grits are easy in the giant Pyrex mixing cup. I recommend investing in stainless steel skewers that can easily be washed and reused. Mine were less than $20 on Amazon and came with their own travel bag for easy transport. They’re not even really camping gear, but they work.
If you’re camping in the mountains or the country, try any combination of local farm stand meat (beef, chicken, venison, sausage, etc.) and veggies that appeal to you on skewers over the fire.
