2 c. dried beans
salt pork
1 garlic bud

Directions:
Directions:
Sort beans and wash. Fill pan 2/3 full water. Bring to boil and lower heat to simmer or low heat. After 1 hour add salt pork, 2 - 4 inch pieces. (about 1/4 lb.) Add garlic.
Add water as needed to keep covered. When nearly done add salt to taste. 1/2 tsp. sugar may be added. Always add boiling water.


When Nonie served this to me, she would add chili powder.
