½ c. butter
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
1 can crushed pineapple (slightly drained)

Cake Batter

2 ½ c. flour
2 c. sugar
3 t. baking powder
½ t. salt
1½ c. milk
⅔ c. shortening
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º
Melt butter over low heat in 13 x 9 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over butter. Top with crushed pineapple, spread evenly.

Mix cake batter in large mixer bowl. Blend and beat 3 minutes on high.
Pour batter over pineapple in pan.
Bake for 35-45 minutes. Invert on plate. Leave 2 minutes.
Serve warm.
