1 c water
1 c sugar
1 c raisins
c nuts
c shortening
1 tsp cinnamon
tsp salt
tsp cloves
tsp allspice
2 c flour
tsp baking soda

Note: high altitude, 4 T water and 1 T flour extra

Directions:
Directions:
Mix above ingredients except flour and baking soda. Boil 1 minute. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 c flour and tsp soda.

Bake 350 for 30 to 40 minutes.
