2 c. sifted flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. Milk
1 tsp. salt
3 sq melted baking chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. milk
3 eggs
Directions:
Directions:
Measure flour, sugar, 3/4 c. milk, salt, cho and shortening into a bowl and mix together by hand or with electric mixer at med speed for 2 min. Stir in baking powder and soda. then add 1/2 c. milk , eggs, vanilla. Mix again for 2 min. Pour into two well-greased and floured 9" layer pans and bake in a moderate oven 350º for 40 min.
Cool slightly before removing from pan, loosen edges, then invert on cake racks to continue cooling. Frost
