1 c sugar
1 c shortening
1 c light molasses
1 tbsp cider vinegar
6 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, shortening, molasses and vinegar in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil. Cook 2 min. Cool.
Sift flour; measure; sift again with salt, soda, baking powder, and spices.
Add eggs to cooled molasses mixture. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Chill.
Roll out on a lightly floured board, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Cut; put on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º for 8-10 min or until done.
