2 c. Flour
2 c. Sugar
1 Stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
4 Tables Cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. butter milk (1 tablespoon vinegar to cup of milk makes butter milk)
1 tsp. baking soda
2 Eggs.
1 Tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and sugar in mixing bowl mix well bringing butter, Crisco, coco, and water to a real hot double boiler and pour over flour and sugar mixing gradually put soda in butter milk and add to other ingredients. Mix well and pour in greased pan, 91/2 x 11 1/2 bake in 400ºF for 30 min or until done batter is real thin put Scotch choc cake icing over cake while cake is still warm icing takes about 5 min to fix leave cake in pan
