Cookie ingredients:
1¼ butter or margarine, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. unsifted flour
¾ c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 c. finely chopped nuts, optional
Chocolate frosting ingredients:
½ c. margarine or butter
½ c. milk
2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
8 to 12 marshmallows
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°. For cookies, cream margarine and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, blend well. Combine flour (sift after measuring), cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts if desired. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes, cookies will puff during baking and flatten upon cooling. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute then transfer to wire rack. For frosting, bring margarine, milk, sugar and cocoa to boil. Add marshmallows until dissolved, remove from heat. Add chocolate chips, stir until melted. Keep frosting warm as you frost cookies.
