1 cup crushed crackers, toast, cake, or zwieback crumbs
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
½ cup raisins
2 cups cut up cooking apples or 1 (1 lb 4 oz) can of sliced apples
Sprinkle of nutmeg
Sprinkle cinnamon

Topping
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup orange juice

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375º
2. Place crackers, toast, cake, or zwieback between two pieces of waxed paper and use a rolling pin to crush into
crumbs – blend in the crumbs with butter and then cover the bottom of an 8”x 8” pan with crushed crumbs mixture –
in a bowl mix together brown sugar, raisins and apples – spread over the crumb mixture – sprinkle with nutmeg and
cinnamon
3. Sprinkle ¼ cup of brown sugar over top and then dribble ¼ cup of orange juice over – bake for 30 min
4. Serve with vanilla sauce or ice cream
