Brownie Batter:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
16 oz chocolate syrup

1st Layer:
1/2 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
4 tsp. creme de menthe

2nd layer:
1 c. chocolate chips
6 tbsp. butter


Directions:

Cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla together in a mixing bowl. Add the flour, salt and chocolate syrup and mix until incorporated. Pour into a greased and floured, 9" x 13" baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes at 350º. Cool completely.

Cream the ingredients for the first layer together. Spread it over the cooked brownie. Melt the chocolate and the butter for the 2nd layer in a double boiler. Cool slightly, then spread over the top of the first layer. It's ready to eat as soon as the chocolate has cooled.

I forgot I had this recipe until I went looking through things for this cookbook. Mom shared it with me many years ago. It was one of her staples.
