1 1/2 lbs. potatoes, sliced thin
2 T. butter
1 pint heavy cream
2 cloves garlic, sliced thin ( I use bottled minced garlic)
2 cups cheddar cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
4 slices provolone cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Layer half of the potato slices in a greased 1 1/2 quart cassarole dish. Dot with half the butter and sprinkle with half the garlic. Pour half of cream over potatoes. Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar over the layer. Season with salt and pepper. Repeat layer of potatoes, garlic, cream, cheese, saltand pepper. Top with slices of provolone cheese.
Bake for 1/2 hour in preheated 325º oven, sprinkle parmesan cheese on top and continue baking uncovered for 1/2 hour or until potatoes are tender.
Russet potatoes take longer than Red or Yukon Golds.
