4 lbs. ground pork
1 T salt
up to 1 cup water
¼ tsp pepper
1 large onion, chopped
5 medium potatoes, cooked and mashed
ground clove and allspice to taste
4 pie crusts (2 tops and 2 bottoms)

Directions:
Combine pork, onions, salt, pepper, and water in a large pan and start at high heat until meat is fairly browned. Cook on low heat until done (2-3 hours). Add spices. Add mashed potatoes to meat. (You can use already prepared mashed potatoes to save time). Put bottom pie crusts into 2 10” pie plates. Pour mixture in and cover with top pie crusts. Brush top crust with thin mixture of milk, sugar, and flour. This makes it brown nicely. Bake pies at 425° until well browned, about 45 minutes. Each pie serves 6. This recipe can be frozen and also prepared ahead of time.

Mom always said "clove and allspice, more clove than allspice" which is how I remember to season. It's really just a matter of preference.
