Directions: |
Directions:Crust: Mix milk with the lemon juice and set aside. Cut flour and salt with Crisco/Lard until extremely fine crumbs. Mix in the milk, form into a ball, refrigerate. This makes 2 crusts. One can be saved for use later.
For pie: Saute apples with sugar and butter until everything is melted and apples have softened a bit. Roll out half the pie crust dough and put into a deep dish pie plate. Put in apples. Cut topping ingredients together until they resemble coarse crumbs. Put crumbs on the top of the pie. Bake at 400º for about 1 hour. If the crust is getting too brown before the apples are cooked, cover the outer edge of the crust with foil. |
