1-1/2 cup butter
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 cup milk
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating a minute or so after each. Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk at low speed of mixer. Stir in vanilla. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 about an hour and 15 minutes or until tests done. Cook in pan about 10 minutes and then turn out on rack to cool completely. Keep tightly covered.
