Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger
2 cup water
1 tsp cream of tartar
5 or 6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (reserve half of this)
2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 10 oz can cream of celery soup
1 10 oz can cream of chicken soup

Directions:
Directions:
Brown hamburger in skillet. Drain and set aside.

Peel and thinly slice potatoes. Combine water and cream of tartar and stir until dissolved. Toss potatoes in water mixture. Drain (this prevents potatoes from turning dark from the slow heating).

Layer all ingredients with hamburger, potatoes, onions, salt, pepper, and half of cheese.

Dot butter around over top. Mix together both soups and pour over all (I usually take a dinner knife and stick down through the mixture so the soups will go in).

Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours or on high 3 to 4 hours. Sprinkle reserved cheese over top 30 minutes before serving.
