¾ tsp. salt
¾ tsp. nutmeg
¾ tsp. cinnamon
1½ tsp. vanilla
¾ cup sugar
6 eggs
4½ cups milk

Beat eggs with a hand whisk; beat in remaining ingredients. Pour into a prepared pie crust and cook in a preheated 450º oven for 20 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350º and bake until knife inserted in the center comes out clean; 15-20 minutes longer.

When making a custard without crust, place in a baking dish and then set the dish in another baking dish filled with water. Make sure the water comes at least have way up to the custard dish.
