1 whole onion
1 piece of salt pork about 4-5 inch piece (if you cannot find salt pork, ask someone in the meat department)
4-6 potatoes or a couple more if making a larger batch
Milk for consistency
Cheese whiz or Velveeta cheese (approximately 4 or 5 Tbsp. cheese)

Chop 1 whole onion and a piece of salt pork (4-5 inch piece) in small pieces. Saute in pot. Add about 4 inches of water. Simmer for approximately 45 minutes until meat is tender.

Add 4-6 Potatoes or a couple more for larger batch, cut in chunks. Add just enough water to cover. Cook until done - mash altogether. Add milk (just enough milk for the consistency you like) and 4 Tbsp. Cheese whiz or chunks of Velveeta.

Heat thoroughly.

*Watch not to scald milk. Do not boil. Delicious!
