Sour Cream Pie Recipe

1 cup cream
1 cup raisins
cup sugar
tsp cinamon
Yolk of 2 eggs

Boil for 5 minutes add tsp soda and put in baked pie shell.
Top with Meringue
3 egg whites
teaspoon vanilla extract
teaspoon cream of tartar
6 tablespoons Sugar
Beat egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar in a mixing bowl at medium speed until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually , 1 tablespoon at a time until stiff peaks form and it is glossy. Spread over pie, sealing edges to pastry.
Bake 350 until starts to brown, reduce oven to 325 and bake for about 20 minutes. Shut off oven and leave door open to cool.
Very rich and good pie. Shirley Blackmore called this pie Mexican pie because Sour Cream pie didn't sound too appetizing. It was an old staple with eggs, cream and raisins.
