17 minute Cake


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
Combine in large bowl 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour

In saucepan bring the following to a boil and add to flour/ sugar mixture
4 T. cocoa (Grandma used 3)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water

Add:
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Beat with mixer until well mixed. Bake 17 minutes on greased cookie sheet 12x17x1

Bake at 375º

Frost while warm
 

Chocolate frosting


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1/4 cup butter
1 T milk ( Grandma used about 1/2 cup)
4 T. cocoa (Grandma used 3)
1 lb powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat to boil, add powdered sugar. Frost while cake is hot.
