1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking soda

Filling:
1 cup raisins
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup boiling water
3 tblsp. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first six ingredients.
Roll out until thin on cutting board. Use a glass to cut out bottom and top layers of dough.
Place 1/2 on cookie sheet.

Cook filling ingredients until thick.

Place 1 tblsp of filling on each bottom of dough and place another on top.
Crimp the edges to keep the filling inside.

Bake 325º for 20 - 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
