2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together first 3 ingredients. Set aside.

Cream together butter and sugar until well blended. Add egg, milk, vanilla and lemon flavorings and scrape the sides of the bowl. Add dry ingredients.
Chill 2-3 hours or overnight. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness and cut desired shapes using cookie cutters.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack before decorating.

I read if you freeze the cookie shapes for at least 3 hours before baking they will hold their shape better.
