1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
c. powdered sugar
c. butter, melted
1 c. sugar
tsp. double-acting baking powder
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. grated lemon peel
c. flaked coconut (optional)
powdered sugar to sprinkle on top

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Sift flour and powdered sugar together. Add melted butter and combine.
Press the mixture into an 8x8 inch greased baking pan/dish and bake 20 minutes.
Meanwhile combine the sugar, baking powder, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon peel (and coconut if you are adding).
Pour these ingredients over the baked warm crust and bake 25 minutes. Chill.
Before serving, cut into 2 inch squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

This is a great Lemon Bar recipe - one of Dad's favorite desserts - a lemon thing.. I've made these for parties when there are several different dessert items.
