1⅓ cup plus 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
¼ tsp D.A. baking powder
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1½ cup brown sugar packed
¾ cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
grease baking sheet lightly
start oven 10 min before baking set at 375 degrees
sift flour, measure and resift with baking powder
chop nuts
put brown sugar through a coarse sieve
cream soft butter in a 3 qt mixing bowl until shiny
add sugar in 2 portions, creaming well
beat egg until fluffy, then stir in vanilla
add flour in 2-3 portions mixing until smooth after each
stir in nuts
measure dough by level tablespoons onto waxed paper
quickly roll into balls
place 2 inches apart on baking sheet
flatten to 1/8 inch thickness
bake about 12 min
