1 cup soy sauce
1 cup cooking sherry
6 T honey
4 T sesame oil
4 heaping T fresh ginger, minced
6-8 cloves of garlic, minced
1 t red pepper flakes
3 pounds flank steak

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a glass or ceramic dish.
Rinse flank steak and place in marinade for at least 6 hours, flipping a few times.
(Or let sit overnight in the fridge)
Remove the flank steak from marinade and grill until desired doneness.
Reserve marinade if desired.
Slice against the grain to serve.
 

Controversial Optional Sauce

Reserved marinade
1/2 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Place reserved marinade into a small saucepan and add water.
Boil at least 20 minutes.
Serve as dipping sauce or thick with cornstarch to use as a gravy for mashed potatoes.
