cup shortening
1 cup sugar
cup molasses
1 egg- well beaten
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour
tsp. cloves
tsp ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
beat: shortening and sugar together
Add: molasses and egg
Mix: baking soda, flour, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt together
Add: dry ingredients to wet ingredients
form into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar; place on cookie sheet and bake in 375 degree oven
