2 squares of chocolate (2 oz)
1 heaping tbsp butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/14 cup sifted cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 scant tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325ºF
Melt butter and chololate together and cool slightly
Into a large mixing bowl put eggs, sugar, melted butter and chocolate and milk
Then sift in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Beat for five minutes with rotary egg beater
Add vanilla and mix
Bake in greased layer tins or 9" square pan for about 35 minutes in 325ºF oven
