2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
8 T. cubed butter (cold)
¾ cup milk (more or less if needed)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut butter into mixture until it looks like cornmeal. Make a well in flour mixture and slowly add milk into middle. Knead dough with fingers and add milk when necessary. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to desired thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter or cup. Butter the bottom of a skillet or pan and place biscuits in pan. Bake for 12 minutes or. until golden brown.

Heat pan first for better results. Brush top of biscuits with butter if desired.
