1 small onion
2 TBSP vegetable oil
2 TBSP flour
2 TBSP chili powder
3 oz tomato paste
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
¾ tsp salt
2 cups water
3 cups chicken broth
4 oz green chiles
15 oz black beans, drained
1½ cup cooked chicken, shredded
1 fresh lime, squeezed
cilantro (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Use a large soup pot to saute' onions in oil until clear. Add in chili powder and flour, cook for 2 minutes. Add 2 cups water, tomatoe paste, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne and salt. Simmer to thicken. Add chicken broth, shredded chicken, green chile and lime juice. Simmer for 30 to 45 minutes to encorporate flavors.

You can garnish with cilantro.

Some other options for garnish is shredded cheese, sour cream, shredded cabbage, sliced raddish or you can eat with tortilla chips
