Ingredients: 1 lb Italian Sweet Sausage 1 lb Lean Ground Beef 6 cups ready made spaghetti sauce 2 eggs 1 16 oz container ricotta cheese 1 Tbs chopped fresh parsley Pinch of Fennel Seed 16 oz mozzarella cheese (cubed) 2 cups hot water divided 1 lb lasagna noodles (uncooked) 1/2 c Parmesan cheese

Directions:1.In a large skillet brown sausage and beef. Place in large saucepan add ready-made spaghetti sauce and mix well. Cook for 15 min. 2. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, ricotta cheese, parsley and fennel. Spread a little sauce in the bottom of a lightly greased 9X13 pan. Mix in 1 cup boiling water. Add a layer of uncooked noodles. Spread some ricotta mixture down the center of each noodle. Cover with meat sauce and dot with mozzarella cubes. Repeat the noodle, ricotta, meat sauce and mozzarella cubes twice.Sprinkle iwth Parmesan cheese. Pour remaining 1 cup of boiling water over the top. 3. Cover tightly with foil and bake 30 min in a preheated 400º oven. Remove foil. Pasta should be tender and there should be liquid in the pan. Bake uncovered about 20 min more or until top browns and all the water is absorbed. Let stand 10 min before serving. |
