1 cup warm water
1 package active dry yeast
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp. salt
4 tbsp. softened butter
1 egg, beaten
3 cups flour or a little more

Directions:
Directions:
Put water, sugar, and yeast in large mixing bowl, let rise a few minutes 5 -10 minutes and add next 3 ingredients. Beat with dough hook until well blended. Add flour and mix until soft dough forms (should not be sticky). Put out onto floured board and knead a few times until smooth. Grease the top of the ball of dough. Place in greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or towel and let rise in warm place approximately 1 hour.. Knead the dough again and place round ball of dough back in the bowl again.Let rise about 45 - 55 minutes. Shape into 12 rolls and place in greased 13x9 inch baking pan or on a cookie sheet.. Let rise again for about 45 minutes. Bake 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush tops of rolls with butter. I always double this recipe.
