1 cup finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
3 cups chopped fresh white mushrooms
2 tbsp. Hard margarine or butter
8 oz. package cream cheese, cut into pieces
1/2 tsp. Seasoning salt
1/2 tsp. Dill
Pepper, heavy sprinkle
1/2 cup mayonaisse
1 1/2 cup grated Monterey Jack with Jalapeño cheese or something similar

Directions:
Sauté onion, garlic and mushrooms in butter in large prying pan for 10 minutes until liquid from mushrooms has evaporated and mushrooms are golden. Remove from heat. Add next 4 ingredients. Stir until cream cheese has melted. Add mayonnaise and grated cheese. Mix well. Spread in shallow baking dish or glass pie plate. Cover and chill for up to 2 days if desired. Bake in 350º F oven for about 30 minutes or until heated through.

Garnish with more mushroom slices and chives if you wish.
