For a 9x13 pan

1 cup Butter (2 sticks)
2 cups sugar
10 to 12 slices of bread crusts removed dices in 1 inch squares
3 cups fresh chopped pineapple
1 cup pineapple juice

( Freeze about 4-5 cups of fresh pineapple that is chopped. After I thawed it it yielded about 3 cups of solids and over a cup of juice)

Melt butter and sugar in a pan
Add reserved juice and make sure sugar is dissolved

Butter a 9x13 bake dish
spread evenly bread cubes and the pineapple

Pour the liquid love over the solids

Bake at 350 for 30 Minutes

Mom had a favorite recipe for this but our neighbor Nancy Sullivan had a different recipe. I think most of us liked Nancy's better. It is a little more bready if that is a word. Moms was more of a sugar butter bomb with less solids, not that this one doesn't have plenty in it.
