3 tbsp Butter
3 Medium yellow onions, peeled and thinly sliced
2 Medium red onion, peeled and thinly sliced
8 cups Beef broth
1 cup Red Wine
1 Bay Leaf
1 clove Garlic, minced
8 Slices French Bread (1/2” thick)
¾ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 cup Mozzarella cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan with a heavy bottom, melt the butter over low heat. Add onions and garlic and sauté, stirring often, for about 5 minutes or until onions are lightly browned but not burned. Add broth, wine, and bay leaf and continue to cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 350º. Remove bay leaf and pour soup into individual ovenproof bowls, place slice of French Bread on soup covering most of the surface of the soup.Top with Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese. Bake until cheese is melted and golden brown.
