4 c sugar
2 c corn syrup
1 c water
2 c butter
4 c raw peanuts
2 tsp soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients into saucepan. Cook and stir till sugar dissolves. Shen syrup boils, blend in butter. Stir frequently after syrup stage 230ºF. Add nuts when temp reaches soft crack 280ºF and stir constantly til temp reaches hard crack 305ºF. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in soda. Mix thoroughly. Pour into 4 cookie sheets. As candy cools, stretch it out thin by lifting and pulling edges, using 2 forks.

This recipe made me laugh. So many of her recipes are written with doubled amounts written to the side. This one has half amounts written to the side. It is probably the only one I'll find like that. In this book, I am putting in the original amounts.
