1 cup warm milk
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg. yeast
1tsp. salt
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Place yeast, milk, water and sugar a large bowl and allow to stand until it begins to bubble.
Begin adding flour a little at a time until its reached a thick consistency, add salt.
Cover the bread mixture with oil and allow to rise in a warm place. When it has doubled in size, take it out onto a floured surface and knead, separate into rolls and allow to rise again.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes then at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until done.

This is Grandma Vaughn and Nana’s recipe, Grandma Vaughn would let her bread rise with a spoon in the center of the dough. When Uncle Jake and I were young and Papa had to work late, Nana would make bread in a skillet and make a huge hamburger for us, it was our favorite!
