"I don't think America will have really made it until we have our own salad dressing. Until then we're stuck behind the French, Italians, Russians and Caesarians."--Pat McNelis

Nina Wolf Dubes

1⅔ c sugar
1 c shortening or butter
2 eggs
2 T sweet milk
1 t vanilla
t salt
1 t soda
1 t baking powder
2 to 3 c flour
c currants and walnuts

Roll into ball and press with fork. Bake golden brown about 10 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Those were the only directions given. My guess is to cream sugar and shortening or butter. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix well. Mix in salt, soda, baking powder, and flour. Gently add in currants and walnuts. With hands, roll spoonfuls of dough into one inch balls, place on cookie sheet, and press with fork.
