2 c oatmeal (uncooked)
1 c flour
1 c butter
1 c brown sugar
½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. (wet) baking soda
500 grams dates
2 tbsp. brown sugar
½ c water

Directions:
Directions:
Date mixture:
1. Combine dates, brown sugar and water in a sauce pan
2. Bring to boil and cook until dates are soft enough to be mashed with a fork (about 5 mint)
3. Set aside and cool

Crumb mixture:
1. Blend or sift together flour, baking powder, sale and baking soda
2. Cut in butter
3. Blend in brown sugar and rolled oats

Press half of the crumb mixture over the bottom of a greased pan; cover with cooled date filling and then cover with remaining crumb mixture. Pat until smooth. Bake at 350º for 35-40 min or until golden brown. Cool before cutting.
