"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Popcorn pot with lid - thin, aluminum works best
Oil - experiment with different oils (Olive oil my favorite but burns quick, Canola or Vegetable works well)
Seeds - experiment with different seeds (yellow seeds pop the best, I always go organic), I keep in the freezer once opened
Popcorn salt - fine and sticks best
Miscellaneous - you can play with seasoning, butter, etc. Also, getting the perfect drink combo and a massive popcorn bowl is key

All about experimentation - you might mess this up once or twice in the beginning. After a couple of times you will have the measurements perfected:
1. Set burner to Medium-High, get out seeds, pot, bowl, and any other desired seasoning
2. Add oil to pot - experiment with the amount, enough to coat the bottom and saturate the seeds, let the oil heat up for a short time
3. Add seeds - enough to cover the bottom
4. Shake - every 1-2 minutes
5. Popping - when the first seed pops, put on the lid, popcorn pops until the lid begins to rise
6. Pour - pour about half of the popped popcorn into the bowl, put the lid back on the pot and let it continue, while waiting season the popcorn in the bowl
7. Repeat step 6 until all seeds have popped, toss the popcorn in the bowl to distribute the seasoning
8. Finalize - take the bowl, napkin, sweatpants, beer to the couch, throw on Netflix and eat

Personal Notes:
This is my favorite food passed down from Grandpa Hayden. Dad tells the story that eating popcorn with the family as a child is a favorite memory. In a world of moderation, Rick describes popcorn eating as the only thing with an unlimited amount. They would watch Bonanza and drink pop. I love thinking about this as I make 3-4 times a week.
